Local SEO for your photo booth business.

photo booth seoI can’t profess to be an expert on SEO (search engine optimization) by any means, but when I search in Google for “photo booth rental + my city”, I come up first on the local results list.  I guess I must be doing something right.  Pretend you are a customer looking for a photo booth and try this search. See where your own photo booth company ranks in the local results.

If you’re not sure what I mean by “local results”, it’s the first business listings that Google ties in with their maps. Here is an example, I searched, “photo booth rental orlando”:
googlelocal

Most of us photo booth business owners should be primarily concerned with “local SEO.”  I know there are some companies who run national operations, but the majority of us serve a local or even regional area in our respective cities.  So with that being said we only have to be concerned with how the search engines react when a prospective customer in our locale searches for a photo booth rental.

This is a very matter of fact, practical, action taking post.  I didn’t create these resources, I just know where to find them.  Take the following steps and your local SEO will improve.

1.  Google Local.  Search for your photo booth business, not there?  Add your business.
2.  List yourself with these top aggregators.  Check to see if you are listed first, if not, add your business.

Express Update.
Localeze.
3.  Read these resources and follow what the experts say:
Moz Local SEO Guide.
Local SEO Checklist.
Ultimate Local SEO Guide.

Do steps #1 and #2 today.  Step #3 is going to take some time.  Reading and learning the information in the local SEO guides can be overwhelming.  Consume this reading little by little in your down time.  Take the action steps that they lay out and you will start to see results.  Although time consuming and tedious, it is free and the results are tangible.  The more you move up the search engine ranks, the easier for customers to find you, which results in more money in your pocket.

Localeze is charging me $297 to list my business. The other 2 sites were free to list my business. What am I paying them for and is it worth it?
